Winter paws safe - yours and your dog to keep

One of the great joys of life with dogs is the route. Necessary for your physical and mental well-being (and also to wear!), the winter months can make these daily stays a bit difficult for those of us in colder climates. The good news is with a little planning, you and your buddy can enjoy the lively air and snowy Wonderland that keeps our dog less friends inside!

Protect your feet.

You are not good for your dog if you are unconscious on the sidewalk, after hitting a patch of ice! Their daily walks don't must to be dangerous if you're wearing sturdy with some sort of grips boots. There are numerous brands at sports stores online and available. I have the yak Trax easy to find and can be good. I recommend that strapped grabbed version as my first strap free hand early in the season!

Even a Blizzard can discourage no intrepid Walker dressed right! Wear warm socks and layer clothing, as well as for any winter sport. In addition to the basics - CAP, gloves, scarf, warm coat, pants I also thin nylon snow on my regular pants throughout the winter. This keeps warm and dry me able to long walks with my buddy.

Protect their paws.

Most dogs, especially the larger breeds are pretty hearty winter, but there are things you can do to keep you safe. Cut the coat between their pads, there is less to collect salt, ice and snow. When you lift your dog prancing - see one paw at a time and keep on it, take action. It looks nice, but that's not a happy dance. Check the paw (s). There are salt, snow or ice stuck between the pads. Clean it out carefully and should be good to go. Keeping nails cut also helps with the traction and prevent these lumps form.

When you get home, wipe the Paws to remove all remnants. Salt and de-icing salt chemicals, even the pet-friendly way can be dangerous if be taken. Be vigilant about the pads. You frequently check for cracks and dryness. An edible (in case you lick) help emollient, moisturizing you and protect you from the elements. Musher's secret is one I've seen advertised brand.

Booties are another option. Not all dogs will take to you but they are available for dogs of all sizes.

Protective gear - weather boots, sweater, jackets really benefit small dogs. Not so much need larger dogs, but are always an option if you are affected, or if your dog is especially sensitive to the cold. The dog towel off if you home, warm it to keep dry and clean.

Winter dog to walk day

One more thing, caretaker be responsible and pick up the poop! Thats not Peppermint ice cream and it is not with the snow to melt! I tend to see more buildings abandoned in winter as in the warmer months. Don't let your dog off leash if you could go somewhere you don't want to follow!

Research has shown the dog owners who regularly enjoy your pets to foot more physical and mental health benefits than those without pets. Let not the winter weather, prevent all year receive these great benefits! Lean cocoa and cuddle your walk back with a warm cup with your best friend. You deserve it!
