Dogs are man's best friend. In fact bring so much joy with a dog. If you live alone, the dog can be a great companion. However, if your dog is terrible and don't know where you poop, you will be exposed to so much stress.
As the owner it is your duty to inform and your dog with right potty training. It is a part of the responsibility with a dog. Now, this is something you do unless it, is okay with you for your dog, to use your whole House as a toilet.
What you can do is to first find a place where you really want your dog to poop. For example, if you want to do your dog on your doorstep, then hold you. This way you are not your dog too confusing.
Note that this is not something that happened over night. It takes some patience and a few days before your dog learns the things you actually want to teach.
What you need, to keep in mind is that you should not punish your dog if it immediately follows your order. The best approach is to give praise and treated if it does what you want. Go with what you can do the first few days with your dog in the place where poop would. Do not leave until it does what it should. Then the next thing to do is, just make it to the place to go, leave it there and wait, until the task is completed. When it tries to follow you, you have a constant command where your dog knows it must return to the place. Finally your dog have the initiative, the place to go if it must, even if you say no command or anything.
Simply you were not concerned to teach your dog what you want. It takes patience and reinforcement. After once you practice you want has learned all that so much effort are stored.
